Our town
Chester, Vermont

The warm and friendly town of Chester was originally an agricultural and rail hub community. Through generations it has maintained a rural country side and its elegant, charming downtown Victorian village with quaint shops.  Chester is a quiet community with farming, tourism and light manufacturing as its mainstay.  Chester is perfectly situated at the center of many Vermont attractions and activities.
Experience the “Green Mountain Flyer” an antique touring train who’s journey begins in the town of Bellows Falls making regular ventures to Chester’s original 19th century rail station. There are special excursions during Easter, Mother’s Day, Columbus Day Weekend and Christmas.  You may picnic on the train in a period club car while taking in the spectacular Vermont country side along the Connecticut River.
